Yet another incursion of monsoonal moisture over Southern California brought early-morning thunderstorms and lightning to parts of the region, resulting in measurable rainfall in several locations.

Rain amounts, where measurable, were mostly light. WeatherCurrents' station in Anza was a notable exception, where 0.56 inches fell Tuesday. Stations in De Luz, Fallbrook, French Valley and Temecula also recorded light amounts. Extensive lightning was reported over parts of the Inland Empire and especially San Diego County early Tuesday morning. Temperatures remained somewhat cool Tuesday and Wednesday, first due to monsoonal moisture however on Wednesday a deep marine layer was responsible. WeatherCurrents stations in De Luz, Fallbrook and Hemet recorded additional light amounts of precipitation on Wednesday. Cumulative amounts were less than 0.10 inches. A gradual warming trend will take hold for the remainder of the week, until monsoonal moisture is expected to return on Sunday.
