A cold low pressure system brought rain, wind, and mountain snow to the region on Monday. The storm was the second in a series of storms impacting the region this week.
Precipitation totals were somewhat varied compared to the previous storm, with totals ranging from a mere 0.05 inches in Pinon Hills to as high as 1.12 inches in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas). Most stations received rain amounts between 0.3 and 0.6 inches. In Yucaipa, 0.64 inches was reported (courtesy of Don Kramer). In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.46 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington). Simi Valley was drier than most WeatherCurrents stations during the storm, with only 0.11 inches recorded there. Snow levels fell to around 3,000 feet, lower in some areas to the north near the San Bernardino Mountains. Snow levels did not drop as low as initially predicted.
Showers had cleared out of the region by Tuesday morning. Cool, partly cloudy weather remained in place mid-week before a third storm enters the region Thursday, which is forecast to be much wetter than the previous two storms.
