A weak trough produced some scattered showers across parts of the region between Wednesday evening and Friday morning, with some communities recording light amounts of rainfall.
Patchy, light showers spread over the region late Wednesday evening, resulting in sporadic rainfall that produced measurable precipitation at ten of seventeen WeatherCurrents stations. Amounts were light, with most locations that did report measurable rainfall recording less than 1/10. Temecula, Beaumont (Cherry Valley), De Luz and Fallbrook recorded slightly higher amounts, with both De Luz and Fallbrook recording the highest amounts due to their favorable locations during the storm. While storm activity was mainly confined to the mountains, several additional rounds of sporadic showers impacted the valleys early Thursday morning and early Friday. In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, a total of 0.08 inches was reported through Friday (courtesy of Jim Sappington) as well as a total of 0.06 inches in Yucaipa (courtesy of Don Kramer). The eastern valleys, as well as Riverside, remained dry during the storm, with WeatherCurrents stations in those areas failing to record measurable rainfall.
The weather pattern shifted to onshore flow by mid-day Friday, prior to another weak trough scheduled to affect the region on Sunday.
