Another cutoff low brought showers to Southern California last week, adding another phase in a wet March across the region.
Precipitation totals across three days, from Wednesday through Friday, ranged from 0.78 inches in Wildomar, to no measurable rain at all in Pinon Hills. Hemet, Temecula, Murrieta, and Lake Elsinore all ended on the higher side of storm totals during this period, exceeding 1/2 inch across three days. Simi Valley was far drier, with only 0.02 inches on March 18th, and no measurable rainfall during the latter two days. In Yucaipa, 0.60 inches was reported (courtesy of Don Kramer) as well as a total of 0.58 inches in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas). In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.51 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington). The showery nature of the storm led to varying totals even across short distances, as observed in Riverside, Hemet, San Jacinto, De Luz, and Fallbrook.
Following a brief break in the wet weather during the weekend, additional wet weather returned late Sunday night.
