There are reports of snow down to the 1,800 foot level Monday evening along the San Jacinto Mountains, in the Valle Vista area of Hemet, and in the Cherry Valley area of Hemet.
"It's snowing hard in Valle Vista," reported Robert Leonard just after 8pm Monday night. "Some of it is sticking."
Alex Tardy of the National Weather Service reported 8" of snow in Idyllwild (San Jacinto Mountains), 5" in Wrightwood (San Gabriel Mountains), 3.5" in Pine Valley (East San Diego County), 1" at Lake Henshaw (3000 feet, in Northern San Diego County).
Rod Walser reported snow depths between of at least 9 inches at about the 3,000 foot level in the hills surrounding the town of Sage, south of Hemet. |
