Outlook: Variable high clouds, warming trend, no rain next week

Posted January 9, 2011, 9:41 PM.

The latest forecasts from the National Weather Service show a relatively uneventful week ahead, giving the inland valleys another week to dry out from a series of storms that ended January 3rd.

The deep marine layer, what's been generating all those clouds this past weekend, is expected to end tomorrow.

Variable high cloudiness won't through, even though we're scheduled to get a few days of offshore flow. Some days, Tuesday in particular, look cloudier than others.

Afternoon temperatures should steadily increase through the week, ending near seasonal norms, around 70°F, on Thursday and Friday in most locations (but a little cooler in the San Jacinto Valley and in De Luz and Fallbrook).

According to weather models, the next hint of some rain could be next Sunday or Monday.
