A fast-moving storm led to steady, moderate rain through most of the inland valleys of western Riverside and northern San Diego counties on Sunday, with some showers trailing into Monday morning.
Rain totals were widely variable, with some areas well over the half to three quarters of a inch that was predicted, with others right on target and some northern areas recording little rainfall.
The southern communities of Fallbrook and De Luz led the way this time with 1.40" and 1.22", respectively, as the rain came from the south.
The stragglers were Sun City, Riverside and Perris, with 0.09", 0.18" and 0.19", respectively. The stations along I-215 have not participated as much in what has otherwise been a wetter-than-normal rain season to date.
In the middle was Temecula, with 0.71", Murrieta at 0.68", Lake Elsinore at 0.64", and the new Moreno Valley station at 0.55".
The San Jacinto Valley stations, Hemet and San Jacinto, were at 0.21" and 0.29".
Among WeatherCurrents stations, De Luz retook the season lead with 14.37" since July 1st. Temecula was second with 13.88" for the season, and Fallbrook third with 13.30".
Temecula is running at more than double its normal-to-date total of 6.30". Between 12-14" is average for an entire rain season for Temecula.
