The first storm of the year drenched Southern California's inland valleys with between one to five inches of rain.
More rain, showers and possibly a thunderstorm or two were possible Sunday night as another front comes in. The storms were predicted to dwindle Monday morning and finally clear out Monday afternoon.
The rainfall reported was widely variable, from 0.91" in Riverside to 3.50" in De Luz, among WeatherCurrents stations. Temecula was at 2.31" Sunday evening, Fallbrook at 2.15", Hemet at 1.14" and Murrieta at 1.07".
What appears to have been a weather-related internet outage knocked out the Lake Elsinore station late Sunday morning, which had recorded 1.33" for the storms.
One report, from a manual gauge in the Meadowview area of north Temecula, had reported more than 5" for the storm as of Sunday evening (thanks Eric Kazakoff).
The National Weather Service reported 13" of rain on Mount Palomar. Snow in the local mountains was reportedly heavy above 6,000 feet.
