Adjusted Fallbrook Rain Total For Friday Close to Record

Posted December 1, 2007, 5:19 PM.

Due to a resident owl, yesterday's rainfall totals at the Fallbrook weather station in Winterwarm underreported the actual rainfall.

The actual rainfall for Friday was 3.35", the second highest total reported at the site. Only January 9th, 2005 was higher, with 3.48".

WeatherCurrents rainfall data for Fallbrook dates back to June 20th, 2004.

The total storm reading was 3.65" at 5pm Saturday.

With manual rain gauges at the site, we were able to determine what the rainfall should have been.

Another nearby reading at Gird Road was 3.36" for the storm, and 4.17" for the season. Thanks to R.C. Blankenhorn for providing this reading.

A third reading, from another automated gauge in Winterwarm, came in at 3.68" for the storm.
