A weak low pressure system off the California coast traveled inland Friday evening, bringing scattered showers to the region overnight into early Saturday morning before departing.
Rain was light, with most WeatherCurrents stations recording under 1/10 of an inch. Only Beaumont (Cherry Valley), Moreno Valley, and Fallbrook recorded higher totals. In East Highland, contributor Peter Michas reported a notable total of 0.26 inches. 0.20 inches was reported by Don Kramer in Yucaipa. A total of 0.06 inches was also reported in Temecula Valley Wine Country by contributor Jim Sappington. Of the eighteen active WeatherCurrents stations, only Temecula, Murrieta, and Pinon Hills did not record any measurable precipitation from the storm.
The storm left behind a mildly cold air mass in its wake. Another storm may affect the region later next week.
