A significant low pressure system brought rain to the region Sunday and Monday, generally performing somewhat above expectations.
Precipitation totals varied widely, with mostly higher totals in the Riverside-San Bernardino metropolitan area and vicinity. Riverside's Presidential Park lead the way with 1.28 inches, followed by 0.86 inches in San Bernardino. In nearby East Highland, 0.84 inches was reported by Peter Michas. In East San Jacinto, 0.52 inches was reported by Monty Parrott. The Temecula Valley and outlying communities to the east were generally on the lower end of the storm, with totals under 1/4 of an inch. In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.12 inches was recorded by Jim Sappington. Farther east, Anza recorded only 0.03 inches. Only Simi Valley did not record any measurable rainfall from the storm.
Warm weather returned briefly during the week, followed by more unsettled weather late in the week.
