Another atmospheric river event - commonplace in recent months - has brought more widespread precipitation to the region during the last days of March.
The storm was not quite as strong as the one from a week prior, which had brought high rainfall amounts over a number of consecutive days. Precipitation totals from the March 29-30 storm were generally lower but also somewhat more variable, ranging from as high as 1.15 inches in Simi Valley to a mere 0.36 inches in Pinon Hills. Most communities received between 1/2 and 1 inch of rainfall. In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, a total of 1.02 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington). A total of 0.47 inches was reported in Yucaipa (courtesy of Don Kramer). The storm further drenched an already soggy, weather-weary state this year.
