By Reginald Stanley. Posted February 29, 2020, 8:36 PM.A cold storm will briefly bring the return of winter-like conditions to the region this weekend, however precipitation totals look to be insignificant. Snow levels are forecast to drop to about 3,200 feet above sea level by Monday morning, however limited moisture will be precipitation amounts on the drier side. Only between 0.1 and 0.2 inches is predicted for the valleys through Monday, as a low pressure system developing off the central California coast makes its way through the region on Sunday. There is a possibility of more we weather impacting the region during the second week of March, according to computer forecast models, however this is too far out to be certain for the time being. The last significant storm to affect Southern California occurred on December 26th, 2019 - over three months ago. Season totals have subsequently fallen to well below average since January. |
