By Reginald Stanley. Posted February 3, 2020, 4:41 PM.A fast-moving cold front rushed through the region late Sunday night through Monday morning, bringing strong winds with sporadic rainfall to parts of the region. Drizzle began to fall in some areas Sunday night, although this was not measurable across most locations. Spotty showers arrived early Monday morning, around 4 AM, however many communities were missed entirely by the rain. For locations that did receive measurable rainfall, storm totals were less than 1/10 inch locally, with French Valley recording the highest total Monday of 0.09 inches. This same cluster of showers also affected nearby Central Murrieta, although WeatherCurrents' station in northwestern Murrieta was missed entirely. WeatherCurrents' stations in Temecula, Lake Elsinore, Riverside (Orangecrest), Simi Valley and Pinon Hills also failed to receive measurable rainfall. In East Highland, as well as Temecula Valley's Wine Country, reports of 0.02 inches each were reported (courtesy of Peter Michas and Jim Sappington, respectively). A total of 0.04 inches was reported in Yucaipa (courtesy of Don Kramer). Low temperatures overnight Tuesday and Wednesday morning are currently predicted to be the coldest of the winter so far across Southern California. Strong offshore flow quickly took hold on the region by mid-morning Monday, and is forecast to continue through Wednesday morning. Here are the rain totals for the WeatherCurrents network and associates:
