By Reginald Stanley. Posted January 16, 2020, 12:23 PM.Gusty southwest winds and rain are scheduled to hit the region late Thursday, as a fast-moving low pressure system sends a cold wave through the state. Precipitation totals are expected to be light, with no more than 1/4 inch forecast across most areas. Some parts of the Inland Empire, as well as most of San Diego County, are expecting no more than 0.1 inch through Friday morning. Snow levels are expected to drop to around 5000 feet above sea level Thursday night, with several inches of snow possible above 5500 feet. The brunt of the cold front will arrive late Thursday evening, with any residual moisture having cleared from the region by Friday morning. High pressure is forecast to briefly take hold over the region through the weekend, before another low pressure system moves in on Monday. At the time of this writing, there is a small chance of precipitation for late Monday night and early Tuesday. |
