By Reginald Stanley. Posted June 22, 2019, 8:19 AM.A particularly deep marine layer and an unseasonable low pressure trough were both responsible for scattered reports of small, but measurable precipitation on the first day of summer across the region. Amid a deepening marine layer late Thursday night, drizzle started to fall in some inland communities around midnight, continuing into Friday morning. In the WeatherCurrents network, three stations recorded measurable precipitation. Beaumont (Cherry Valley) and De Luz both recorded 0.03 inches, and French Valley received 0.02 inches. Not far from Beaumont, a total of 0.02 inches was also reported in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas). East of the Temecula Valley, a total of 0.01 inch was reported in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington). No further precipitation was expected in the following days. |
