Light showers arrived to the region Monday and Tuesday this week, as a weak Pacific storm traveled down the California coast. The storm brought a break from the unusually warm, very inactive rainy season this winter.
Showers began early Monday morning, but had dissipated over most areas by mid-morning. Another wave of light rain swept through the region overnight and into early Tuesday morning, where shower activity had again dissipated by midday. Cool temperatures prevailed following a warm start to the month.
For most locations, rain was light, if any rain fell at all. An exceptional total of 0.44 inches, however, was reported in East Highland by Peter Michas. In the WeatherCurrents network, De Luz and Fallbrook both led with 0.15 inches each. Hemet received 0.10 inches. Other locations recorded under 1/10 of an inch, and many communities did not receive any measurable rain at all. In Temecula Valley Wine Country, 0.04 inches was reported by Jim Sappington.
