WeatherCurrents' station in San Diego's City Heights neighborhood recorded the most precipitation with 0.08 inches. Riverside (Orangecrest) recorded 0.03 inches, and De Luz recorded 0.01 inch. Temperatures and humidity plummeted following the initial band of moisture that moved south over the region. These seemingly contrasting types of weather were both caused by the same low pressure system of the Great Basin. Two of the colder, higher-elevation sites in the WeatherCurrents network - Anza and Pinon Hills - both dove into the 20s Thursday morning. Weak offshore flow will bring a mild warm-up through Christmas Day. December, and the rainy season as a whole, continue to be unusually dry with no significant rain in sight. The Climate Prediction Center issued a La Nina advisory back in November. La Ninas often produce below-average rainfall in Southern California. |
