In the aftermath of the New Years Eve storm which recently impacted the region, another storm was set to bring more rain and mountain snow to the region late Monday and Tuesday, with several more storms possibly in tow later in the week. Only Friday-Saturday appear to possibly be dry.

Much of the state has become used to cold, cloudy, damp weather over the past week - and it will likely continue for at least a few more days. Tonight's storm does not appear to be quite as wet as the New Years Eve storm, with projected storm totals about half or slightly less than half of the previous storm's totals. This storm will be much colder, however, with snow levels predicted to fall to between 4000 and 4500 feet above sea level. Mountains and deserts are expected to see gusty winds again today as well. The region could also see scattered showers late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The wet pattern continues with another storm system targeting California Wednesday-Thursday, with Southern California in particular expected to see likely rain late Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Troughing is expected to remain in place through the end of the week, although Friday and Saturday appear drier at this time, low-end chances of precipitation have not yet been ruled out.
