A cold, weak trough inflicted a small series of showers at the region late Friday night and early Saturday morning, bringing mostly under 1/3 of an inch of precipitation to the region. Snow levels lowered dramatically from above 9,000 feet down to around 5,000 feet above sea level Friday.
Following a warm, very wet Thursday storm - a much colder trough brought several waves of showers to the region late Friday night. Far less wet than Thursday, totals amounted to primarily 1/3 of an inch or less. Yucaipa was a notable exception, where 0.93 inches was recorded over Friday-Saturday (courtesy of Don Kramer). Simi Valley returned to the top tier of WeatherCurrents storm totals with 0.43 inches, following a rare low storm total Thursday. This was followed by 0.37 inches in Beaumont (Cherry Valley), as well as 0.34 inches at both East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas) and WeatherCurrents' station in Anza. All remaining totals were 1/4 of an inch or less. A two-day total of 0.16 inches was reported in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington). Perris and Pinon Hills received the lowest totals, with 0.04 and 0.03 inches respectively.
Following a cold, partially sunny break in the weather Saturday, an additional wave of showers approached Southern California Saturday night, however this fell apart south of Point Conception. Unsettled weather continued Sunday, before more showers arrived Sunday afternoon.
