A weak storm hit the region Friday night and continued into Saturday morning, bringing mostly light showers, however a strong cell had been reported in Moreno Valley Saturday evening, as well has heavier rain in Simi Valley.
Storm totals were mostly under 1/4 of an inch. Notable exceptions were Simi Valley, where heavy rain brought their total up to 0.98 inches, and Moreno Valley (0.67 inches), where a microburst dropped heavy rain and hail between 4 and 5 PM. A report sent in to WeatherCurrents from a resident in Moreno Valley detailed the events of the microburst. " We got hammered Saturday afternoon/evening with a rain cell that passed thru Mo Val. It started with a light rain, to a heavy rain to BB size hail, to pea size hail combined with an almost 10 degree temp drop and then REAL heavy rain! We had family out from Orange County and they thought it was a great show."
WeatherCurrents contributors reported 0.26 inches in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas), 0.10 inches in East San Jacinto (courtesy of Monty Parrott), and 0.01 inch in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington).
