Posted July 18, 2025, 3:59 PM.![]() Low pressure over northern Baja California is bringing monsoonal moisture into the region Friday, with a wave of thunderstorms rolling through the region early Friday morning, and additional thunderstorms Friday afternoon. The scattered nature of the thunderstorms produced sporadic precipitation across parts of western Riverside County, southern Orange County and northern San Diego County early Friday morning. In the WeatherCurrents network, four stations received measurable precipitation Friday morning, with the greatest amount observed in Lake Elsinore with 0.28 inches. Hemet, San Jacinto and Murrieta also received small amounts of rainfall. Thunder and lightning were observed across the region during the early hours of Friday morning, before a lull in activity until Friday afternoon. Additional thunderstorms have popped up over the deserts and mountains, primarily moving in a west-southwesterly direction. The National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings to portions of the San Gabriel, San Bernardino and San Jacinto mountain ranges Friday afternoon. A small chance exists of thunderstorm activity spreading into some of the interior valleys Friday afternoon. Monsoonal moisture will decrease on Saturday. |
