A weak, fast-moving trough of low pressure brought scattered light showers to the region late Saturday and early Sunday morning, resulting in light precipitation amounts.
Most inland areas west of the mountains recorded measurable precipitation, and amounts were generally less than 0.1 inch. South Fallbrook was slightly wetter with 0.20 inches, followed by 0.14 inches in Anza and 0.10 inches in Perris. In East Highland, 0.15 inches was reported (courtesy of Peter Michas) while 0.03 inches was reported in nearby Yucaipa (courtesy of Don Kramer). In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.05 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington). Storm totals in the Temecula Valley were fairly consistent with most stations there recording 0.02 inches. In the WeatherCurrents network, only Pinon Hills did not record any measurable precipitation. Overnight showers had ended by Sunday morning, eventually giving away to mostly clear skies.
The weak storm did little to alleviate the region's dry spell since January. The return of high pressure is forecast to bring warm weather to the region throughout most of the week, aided by offshore flow.
