Sandstorm And Visibility Problems Reported in San Jacinto Sunday

Visibilities were very poor in San Jacinto Sunday afternoon and evening as Santa Ana winds blew.

Still other reports had drivers pulling over due to blowing sand and dust. Power outtages were reported in both San Jacinto and large areas of Hemet. Numerous trees and other debris caused road closures throughout the city.

The eastern edges of Hemet and Valle Vista seems to have been mostly unaffected by the blowing sand and dust with the exception of about 30 minutes of no power in the evening.

Winds were gusting up to 29 mph Sunday afternoon at WeatherCurrents' San Jacinto location. Nearby, at WeatherCurrents' wind-sheltered Hemet location in the Valle Vista area, wind gusts only reached 10 mph.
