According to reports from the Riverside County Fire Department, at 7am Saturday morning, the Border Fire, as it is being called, was 50% contained, and the footprint has been updated to 150 acres.
Two southbound lanes of I15 remain closed for firefighter safety Saturday morning. Traffic going southbound on the freeway was still visibly slow (the freeway can be easily seen from most of southern Temecula).
Air bombardment was still taking place as temperatures steadily increased Saturday to predicted highs in the upper 90's.
The fire department is estimating full containment for Sunday, July 2nd. |
