As of yesterday morning, Hemet is operating with a new weather station made by Davis Instruments, the Vantage Pro 2. This wireless weather station package is better suited for operations in eastern Hemet, where maintaining a wired weather station proved difficult.
The new weather station is the first Davis Instruments station in the WeatherCurrents network.
We're hoping the new equipment will be more reliable than the Peet Bros equipment out there. Other Peet Bros weather stations in the WeatherCurrents stations have had very few problems, but the Hemet installation has been plagued with difficulties, including chewed through cables, anemometers, and bad power supplies. |
