A weakening trough brought less rain than originally anticipated across parts of the region early Friday morning, as well as snow flurries in the mountains.
Precipitation predictions for the valleys had initially been between 0.10 and 0.25 inches across much of the Inland Empire through Friday, however most locations fell quite short of these predictions. The highest observed total in the WeatherCurrents network was 0.14 inches in Riverside (Presidential Park), followed by 0.13 inches in Beaumont (Cherry Valley). A total of 0.13 inches was also reported in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas), as well as 0.03 inches in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington). Some WeatherCurrents stations, such as French Valley, San Jacinto, Pinon Hills, and Simi Valley did not record any measurable precipitation at all on Friday.
Remaining residual moisture clung to the mountains throughout Friday, clearing out by the evening. Following cold, windy weather Friday, drier weather was expected for Saturday. Additional chances for showers are possible on Sunday and Monday.
