A weakening cold front brought another round of showers to the region Saturday morning, and had departed completely by the afternoon.
The front moved very quickly, resulting in rain that lasted for only about an hour Saturday morning before moving on. Most locations received less than one fifth of an inch. A notable exception was 0.45 inches in Simi Valley, northwest of Los Angeles, where heavier rain fell and for a longer period of time. Lake Elsinore and East Hemet recorded the next-highest totals, although significantly less than Simi Valley, with totals of 0.15 inches and 0.14 inches, respectively. A total of 0.14 inches was also reported in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas), as well as 0.09 inches in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington). The lowest total in the WeatherCurrents network was 0.02 inches in Pinon Hils, followed by 0.03 inches in Perris.
Following the quick passage of the cold front Saturday morning, many Inland communities saw sunshine Saturday afternoon. A second, stronger cold front arrived the next day.
