A low pressure trough brought light to moderate rainfall to most of the region late Wednesday night into Thanksgiving morning. It was the first widespread rain of the month.
With a few exceptions, most communities received under 1/4 inch of rainfall overnight. De Luz led with 0.40 inches, followed by 0.36 inches in South Temecula. 0.35 inches was reported in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas) followed by 0.28 inches in South Fallbrook. Simi Valley, northwest of Los Angeles, recorded a total of 0.27 inches. In Temecula Valley Wine Country, 0.24 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington). 0.16 was also reported in Yucaipa (courtesy of Don Kramer).
On the low end of storm totals were communities such as Riverside (Orangecrest), where only 0.01 inch was observed. Pinon Hills, Wildomar and Murrieta also saw similarly low amounts of rain. Mountains and foothills were generally favored during the storm.
Storm totals for San Diego (City Heights) and San Jacinto were unavailable due to station outages.
