A series of cold Pacific storms brought rain to the region over the weekend, followed by dense fog in some inland communities overnight.
The first storm arrived on Saturday and was generally the wettest out of the bunch. Most communities recorded between 1/4 and 1/2 inch from that storm. The second storm arrived Sunday morning, and was just as cold but not quite as wet. The third and final storm was the weakest, and departed the region Monday afternoon. Rain amounts from the latter two storms were generally around 1/10 inch.
Grand totals for the three storms ranged from as high as over one inch in Beaumont (Cherry Valley) and De Luz, down to about 1/3 inch in San Diego (City Heights), San Jacinto and outlying Simi Valley. In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.74 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington), 0.70 inches was reported in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas), and 0.68 inches was reported in East San Jacinto (courtesy of Monty Parrott). WeatherCurrents' station in Anza was not reporting rain accurately for the storms.
