A low pressure system that brought modest rain and snow to most of the state fizzled for the region Monday and Tuesday.
Little precipitation, if any, was recorded at most stations in the region. The typically wet communities of Fallbrook and De Luz lead the way with 0.14 and 0.11 inches respectively, along with San Diego's City Heights neighborhood to the south (0.11 inches). To the east, Hemet and San Jacinto also recorded rainfall. Other notable totals include 0.10 in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington) and 0.08 in East San Jacinto (courtesy of Monty Parrott). Other WeatherCurrents stations did not record any measurable precipitation at all from the storm.
Santa Ana Winds made a return Wednesday and continued into Thursday this week, dropping humidities into the single digits and bringing fierce winds to some areas. A large wildfire was reported to be burning near Simi Valley on Wednesday, exacerbated by the dry winds.
