The third storm of the fall season crawled through the region late last week, leaving sporadic amounts of rain in its wake over a period of three days.
Rain totals were widely variable, with the most rain falling in the northeastern part of the inland valleys, and the least between Riverside and Lake Elsinore.
Cherry Valley received the most rainfall (0.66"), followed by East Highland (0.61", courtesy of Peter Michas), San Bernardino (0.51"), De Luz (0.31") and San Diego's City Heights (0.30").
At the bottom were Wildomar (0.01"), Lake Elsinore (0.02"), Simi Valley (0.04"), Anza (0.05"), Riverside (Presidential Park) (0.05"), and Menifee (0.06").
Rainfall for the season is running near normal, despite an active monsoon season this past summer and the three relatively light fall storms to date.
Snow narrowly missed WeatherCurrents' new station in the Anza Valley. Curtis Croulet reported snow on Thomas Mountain (elevation 4650 feet), to the north of the valley. Prior to the storm, snow levels down to 3,500 feet had been forecast.
The next storm is teed up for later this week, for Thursday evening through Friday afternoon. Rain totals were expected to be minimal, less than a tenth of an inch.
