A cold upper low moving over the Sierra Nevada mountains and southern Nevada over the next several days is forecast to bring more rain and mountain snow, which has potential to make it to lower elevations Wednesday.

Snow levels will begin higher than during recent storms, starting around 4,500 to 5,000 feet and above, however the snow level is predicted to lower over the course of the day on Wednesday as even colder air settles in. Snow might accumulate above 2,500 feet, while a dusting of snow (not accumulating) is possible as low as 1,500 feet. If it comes to fruition, this would be the second time in less than a week this winter where uncommonly low snow levels occurred. A Wind Advisory was also issued by the National Weather Service to inland valleys, while the strongest winds will occur in the mountains, mountain passes and deserts. Milder, drier weather was expected to develop late in the week, however, wet weather could return again next week - although forecast confidence past Monday remains low at this time.
