The strongest storm of the season to date exceeded predictions Sunday and dumped between a half and an inch and three quarters of rainfall on Southern California's inland valleys.
The storm was the latest in series of storms dating back to October, as the second La Nina year in a row has gotten off to an atypical wet start.
Rainfall was heavy in the morning to the west in Simi Valley, and arrived in the Inland Empire in the late afternoon, where most of the rain fell in two waves in the evening hours. Scattered showers were still occurring after midnight and into the early morning.
Beaumont led the way this time among WeatherCurrents' 16 stations, with 1.71", followed by Murrieta at 1.41". De Luz also had more than one inch of rain, with 1.22".
At the bottom of the rain totals were Moreno Valley (0.57"), Riverside (0.59"), East San Jacinto (0.60") and Perris (0.65").
Most of the other communities fell between 0.70" (Simi Valley) and 0.88" (French Valley).
November's storms are not over yet. A Thanksgiving Day storm could bring some light precipitation later this week.
