A late-season storm swept through the region over the weekend, resulting in mostly light showers and cooler temperatures.
The storm ended a modest spring heat wave that had previously kept the region very warm and dry. Precipitation totals varied between under 1/3 of an inch in valley communities to over an inch in more favored hilly locations. Fallbrook and De Luz led storm totals with 1.82 inches and 1.22 inches respectively, followed by 1.07 inches in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington) and 1 inch in Temecula. The driest location was Simi Valley, which reported only 0.04 inches. Riverside, Moreno Valley and Perris each reported low amounts of 0.06 inches as well. In East San Jacinto, 0.20 inches was reported (courtesy of Monty Parrott) and 0.16 inches was reported in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas).
Minor chances of showers are expected to continue into early Wednesday, before the storm departs and milder Spring weather returns.
