Scattered light showers, drizzle, clouds and wind arrived with a cold low pressure trough Monday.
The early season system looked to remain in place into Wednesday, and could bring a light dusting of mountain snow above 8,000 feet.
Measured rainfall on Monday was sporadic. De Luz led the way with 0.07", followed by Fallbrook with 0.05" and Wildomar with 0.03". Hemet recorded 0.02", and Temecula, San Jacinto and French Valley each had 0.01".
Another rain gauge in Fallbrook recorded 0.06" (courtesy of R.C. Blankenhorn). A tenth of an inch fell in the Temecula Valley Wine Country (thanks to Jim Sappington). And 0.02" was recorded in Eastern Murrieta (thanks to Reginald Stanley).
Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Moreno Valley, Murrieta, Perris and Riverside did not receive enough rainfall to measure.
The system followed thunderstorms from subtopical moisture last week. The contrast in temperatures between systems was dramatic - up to 30 degrees in some places.
