A late-season Pacific storm brought cool temperatures and showers to the region, with most precipitation falling overnight into Sunday morning.
Storm totals varied, as high as 0.47 inches in Lake Elsinore to no measurable rain in Simi Valley. The majority of WeatherCurrents stations received less than 1/4 inch of rainfall, however Lake Elsinore, Fallbrook and Riverside were exceptions to this rule. Strong streams of precipitation were more persistent over this part of the Inland Empire, while other areas received shorter durations of rainfall. In Riverside's Canyon Crest neighborhood, 0.31 inches was recorded (courtesy of Jim Ness) while 0.42 inches was recorded in South Fallbrook. Areas to the north did not benefit as they did during pregious storms - Pinon Hills recorded only 0.01 inch, while Simi Valley did not receive any measurable rainfall. Another low pressure system off the coast of Baja California could bring another chance of light showers Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
