September 4th Thunderstorm Over Santa Rosa Plateau One of The Tallest in Recent Years

Back when the area was experiencing thunderstorms, around Labor Day, a report had one of the clouds above the Santa Rosa Plateau spiraling up to 50,000 feet. That one, combined with a 65,000 foot storm near the San Diego and Imperial County line, were some of the tallest seen in recent years. Interestingly, no rain was recorded that day. Humidities at the Murrieta weather station, not far from the plateau, were between 26-45% that afternoon. One possible reason for the apparent miss was that the atmosphere surrounding the storm was apparently too dry for rainfall to reach the ground, although other storms did notably hit Lake Elsinore a few days earlier.
