A Spring heat wave has hit western Riverside and northern San Diego counties, with triple digit temperatures recorded by many WeatherCurrents stations, and all stations above 95°F.
Lake Elsinore, Menifee Valley, Hemet and Riverside all were over 100°F Saturday, with Lake Elsinore and Menifee Valley the hottest at 102.3°F. Lake Elsinore recorded its first triple digit day of 2006 Friday.
Sunday was shaping up to be no better, with a repeat of Saturday's heat expected. Temperatures are expected to begin a slow cooling trend Monday, but are predicted to remain well above normal throughout the inland areas.
Saturday's high of 98.2°F in Temecula was at least a seven year record (Temecula has been operating the longest), eclipsing a high of 92°F from June 3, 2000.
