Wednesday's offshore wind event, the first of the season, revved up temperatures in northern San Diego and western Riverside counties to the hottest in a while. Most of Wednesday's highs were the hottest recorded in a relatively cool September this year.
Fallbrook was the hottest, topping out at 99.2°F, and remained warm throughout the night. In addition, the highest wind
gusts, at 28 mph, were recorded in Fallbrook. All WeatherCurrents locations were above 95°F for the day, and several recorded
wind gusts in excess of 20 mph, including Murrieta, Menifee Valley,
and Lake Elsinore.
Data from Riverside was not available due to an extended
internet outage there.
