The Excessive Heat Warning previously issued by the National Weather Service for nearly all of Southern California, has been extended to 8 PM Friday across the inland valleys, deserts and coastal areas - while the Excessive Heat Warning will expire at 8 PM Thursday evening for the mountain and foothill areas. Extreme heat and widespread triple-digit temperatures continue to be in the forecast through at least Wednesday, only slightly decreasing after as a strong high pressure ridge over the Great Basin begins to slowly weaken late in the week. The Excessive Heat Warning had previously been set to expire on Monday, then Tuesday, then Wednesday. |
