The second big storm of the month rolled through Southern California this past Sunday and Monday, but despite the rain, season rain totals remain stubbornly below normal.
Depending on the location, rainfall was either heavy or light.
In Simi Valley, where rain began falling Sunday morning, the total was heavy, with 1.91" recorded.
At the other end of the spectrum was the Canyon Crest neighborhood in Riverside, which recorded only 0.11" for the storm. Rain was also scarce to the south, with San Diego's City Heights neighborhood registering just 0.21".
The storm hit most of the region late Sunday afternoon, with moderate to heavy rainfall in Riverside and San Bernardino counties Sunday evening. Showers lingered into early Monday morning.
Other significant storm totals were in Murrieta (1.03"), De Luz (0.94"), Lake Elsinore (0.87"), Beaumont (0.67"), Temecula (0.65"), San Bernardino (0.60") and French Valley (0.60").
For the season, with the wettest part now wrapping up, rain totals remained far below normal. Fallbrook was nearly 8" below normal, Murrieta was over 6" below normal, Temecula was 5" below normal, De Luz almost 5" down, Hemet more than 4" below normal, Lake Elsinore almost 4" below, Riverside 3" below normal, and Menifee about 2" below normal.
