A fast-moving low pressure system brought showers, cold temperatures and wind to the region Monday. Snow levels in the mountains fell to as low as 3,000 feet above sea level.

Precipitation totals were generally light, ranging from 0.04 inches in Perris to 0.45 inches in East Highland (courtesy of Peter Michas). A total of 0.39 inches was reported in nearby Yucaipa (courtesy of Don Kramer). In the WeatherCurrents network, Moreno Valley was the wettest station on Monday, with 0.30 inches recorded there. Fallbrook, De Luz and South Temecula were all not far behind. In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, 0.29 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington). WeatherCurrents' station in Pinon Hills did not record measurable precipitation as of Wednesday morning, but snow did accumulate there and has yet to melt. Along with Perris, stations in East Hemet, San Jacinto and Murrieta all recorded less than 0.1 inch. WeatherCurrents' stations in Lake Elsinore and Riverside (Presidential Park) were still experiencing rain gauge outages until they can be replaced. Scattered showers had mostly tapered off overnight late Monday.

Cooler than average weather has been left in the storm's wake, with patchy frost forming in parts of the Inland Empire several nights this week. Mild warming during the latter part of the week will be followed by the arrival of a large trough deepening over the West Coast over the weekend, bringing with it a possible chance of light precipitation to the region early next week.
