In what is becoming a regular occurrence this summer, the inland communities were visited by a round of brief showers early Friday morning, courtesy of monsoonal moisture affecting the region.

Unlike the more widespread thunderstorm event which occurred back on the 21st, this event was much smaller in scale and produced fewer showers west of the mountains.

Rain totals were smaller this time around as a result. Out of the WeatherCurrents stations, Riverside's Canyon Crest station recorded the highest total, with 0.04". In East San Jacinto, Monty Parrott recorded a greater total of 0.07". Jim Sappington in Temecula Valley Wine Country reported 0.03". De Luz, South Fallbrook, East Hemet, Jurupa Valley, Riverside's Presidential Park and San Bernardino all recorded identical totals of 0.02". Reginald Stanley also reported 0.02" in East Murrieta.

Monsoonal moisture had mostly left the region as of Saturday evening, with the only remaining moisture confined to the mountains. Our weather is not expected to undergo any significant changes through the next week.
