Only a few hundredths of an inch of rain, if any, are predicted from the final storm of the March.

Saturday was generally a cloudy day, with wind kicking up in the afternoon, ahead of the incoming storm.

A chance of showers begins this afternoon to the west in Simi, and this evening in Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties. Light rainfall is likely tonight in the Inland Empire, Southwest Riverside County and in the San Diego area.

The largest threat this evening is from gusty winds. Winds are expected to gust to 20-30 mph in the inland valleys, and will be higher in the mountains, passes and deserts.

Looking ahead, another low pressure system is expected in the region late next week, but is not currently forecast to deliver any rainfall.

Before that, a period of dry, warmer weather is forecast, especially Tuesday and Wednesday.

April is normally drier than March, with average rainfall totals of only about a half an inch to just under an inch in Southern California's inland valleys.
