The second storm of the week continued wet, stormy weather on Tuesday. Although the storm was generally not as strong as Monday's storm that dumped up to 2.5" in the inland valleys and more elsewhere, some communities recorded more rain on Tuesday than they did on Monday.
Several WeatherCurrents communities recorded more than an inch. Murrieta, which had big totals on Monday, received another 1.21". Wildomar got 1.07", and Lake Elsinore 1.03".
Menifee, which is often towards the bottom in rainfall, had a robust 0.88".
In the Riverside metro area, Moreno Valley led the way with 0.98" through Wednesday morning. Nearby, totals were much less: Riverside recorded 0.52" and Perris 0.53".
Fallbrook, which often receives the most rainfall, registered at 0.71". South Temecula, which is normally also among the wetter communities, recorded 0.61". Other readings in Temecula were 0.85" out in the Wine Country and 0.43" in Crowne Hill.
At the bottom of the WeatherCurrents stations was French Valley, with 0.44". Close by, in eastern Murrieta, 0.53" was recorded.
The effects of the storm were downed trees, crashes, and flooded roads. More rainfall on the way Wednesday and Thursday - about two to four more inches worth - could increase flooding.
Some rain gauges continued to have trouble Tuesday. Wildomar was suffering from wiring issues and the Perris rain gauge was inoperable.
