By Reginald Stanley. Posted March 15, 2024, 3:56 PM.Following gusty Santa Ana Winds that whipped across the region Thursday, a cutoff low has drifted further west than expected and isolated thunderstorms have begun popping up over parts of the Inland Empire Friday afternoon. At the time of this writing, at least two thunderstorm cells were observed over the Santa Ana Mountains, as well as one over Palomar Mountain. Rumbles of thunder have been reported in and around the Temecula Valley and its surrounding environs after 3 PM Friday afternoon, as well as parts of northern San Diego County. Previously, wrap-around moisture had begun producing light rain over parts of Southern California late Thursday night into Friday as the responsible cutoff low stalls over the region. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory for the southern Santa Ana Mountains, the Temecula Valley, eastern Orange County and northwestern San Diego County through 5:30 PM local time due to thunderstorms moving through the area. Urban and small stream flooding may occur in affected areas. |
