Triple digit maximum temperatures were recorded Sunday in Lake Elsinore (103.6°F), Menifee Valley (101.5°F), Moreno Valley (100.1°F), Perris (103.4°F), and Riverside (101.3°F). Hemet (99.7deg;F), San Jacinto (99.8°F) and Murrieta (98.9°F) were just shy of 100°F.

Saturday was slightly cooler in some spots and slightly hotter in others. Riverside (102.0°F), Hemet (103.1°F) and Murrieta (100.9°F) were hotter. Lake Elsinore (102.0°F), Menifee Valley (102.4°F) and Perris (101.1°F) were also into triple digits.

Temecula recorded a triple digit day on Friday.

The heat wave left only the De Luz, Fallbrook and San Jacinto weather stations without a hundred degree day in 2008. Slightly cooler temperatures in De Luz and Fallbrook were somewhat expected, due to their western locations nearer to the coast. San Jacinto was the lone holdout in Western Riverside County, and only narrowly missed 100°F Sunday.

Many inland areas were predicted to be near or above triple digits again Monday as the heat wave continues. Cooling was predicted to begin Tuesday, with temperatures in the 80's, followed by much cooler temperatures in the 70's Wednesday, which might hold out for the rest of the week.
