A deep trough over the Great Basin brought light rain to parts of the inland empire Saturday evening.
Precipitation totals were light, with little more than 0.10 inches being recorded at most locations where rain was measurable. In Temecula Valley's Wine Country, a total of 0.18 inches was reported (courtesy of Jim Sappington) while the highest total in the WeatherCurrents network was 0.13 inches recorded in South Fallbrook. In East Highland, 0.05 inches was reported (courtesy of Peter Michas). With the exception of Hemet and San Jacinto, most of the eastern valley communities failed to record any measurable precipitation. The southern half of the Temecula Valley and vicinity was somewhat on the wetter side of rain totals. Drizzle in other parts of the inland empire gradually tapered off overnight into Sunday morning. By Monday, a brief Santa Ana Wind event had already taken its place.
