A weak low pressure trough brought cooler weather and scattered showers Wednesday morning across the region, in a short break from the region's recent warm, dry pattern.
Light showers materialized over the region early Wednesday morning. Areas to the south generally benefited more from the shower activity, while very little or no rain fell further north. Of the seven WeatherCurrents stations that recorded measurable precipitation Wednesday, the highest total was 0.15 inches in Fallbrook. A total of 0.11 inches was reported in Temecula Valley's Wine Country (courtesy of Jim Sappington), followed by 0.06 inches in nearby South Temecula. Smaller amounts were also observed in Anza, Riverside (Presidential Park), Moreno Valley, De Luz, French Valley, and central Murrieta. Cool, mostly cloudy weather continued throughout Wednesday.
Small chances of showers were expected to re-emerge Thursday night, and continuing Friday. A return to much warmer, drier weather was forecast for next week.
